Grant Cartwright
As Producing Artistic Director of the SPEAK UP! Festival, Grant brings people together through his belief in the power of queer stories and the arts. Launched in 2025 as a celebration of Pride Month, the festival connects artists, partners, and audiences while creating opportunities for 2sLGBTQIA+ voices to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
Bringing Shakespeare into a contemporary conversation, Grant serves as Producing Artistic Director of Shakespeare Slay Fest, curating bold, inventive work inspired by the Bard. With a deep love for Shakespeare and a curiosity for what his work can become today, Grant brings artists and audiences together to explore the classics with fresh eyes, new perspectives, and a little irreverence.
Grant has directed NYC PrideFest, one of New York City’s largest LGBTQIA+ street festivals, bringing together thousands of attendees, artists, performers, and community organizations. His work on the festival reflects his ability to lead large-scale productions while creating experiences that feel vibrant, inclusive, and deeply connected to the community.
